These units are not heavy but are fairly big...
Temps holding or varying between 99 & 102 degrees "Fahrenheit" and holding between 45 to 60% humidity is acceptable to successfully incubate and hatch almost any fertile/viable chicken or game bird hatching eggs.
These 'Cooler/Bators' are nothing like those cheesy Styrofoam incubators that you get from the feed store! Our incubators have lasted for years and they are easy to service and clean. After each hatch, they can be cleaned with a disinfectant wipe!
I do build incubators into styrofoam coolers! I use the 'Angus Beef' styro-coolers because the foam is 1 1/2 to 3 inches thick!
We've posted a short "how-to" video on YouTube showing how we build our Incubators... "Cooler/Bators."
Almost all of the birds here on our farm were hatched from our "Home Made" Incubators just like the ones shown here on this page. They work very well... :)
Below are a couple of wiring diagrams on how we wire our cooler incubators.
You can "Right Click" on the pic below and select "Save Picture As" and then save it to your P.C.
so that you can print it out later!
